Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson said in a recent livestream that LayerZero now connects Cardano to more than 80 blockchains, positioning the network as “no longer an island,” per a clip shared by Angry Crypto Show on X.

The integration was unveiled earlier this month at Consensus Hong Kong 2026 after negotiations with key stakeholders, and was framed as a strategic interoperability milestone that plugs Cardano into major networks including BNB Chain, Solana, and Ethereum. The reported scope is to let liquidity, users, and value move across chains, enabling cross-chain DeFi workflows such as omnichain DEXs, cross-network lending, and tighter liquidity routing.

Stakeholders will be watching the execution layer: stake pool operator Jaromir Tesar said LayerZero functions as a decentralized messaging layer with standardized endpoints, but warned that interoperability alone will not guarantee outcomes without sustained developer adoption and sufficient liquidity to support new omnichain applications.
