The integration introduces the Cactus Oasis system, an off-exchange settlement framework that allows trades to be executed on the exchange while funds remain in segregated and regulated custody, under institutional-grade security controls.
Cactus Oasis: Institutional-Grade Operational Security
The agreement aims to strengthen KuCoin’s offering for corporate clients, enabling funds and institutions to trade without the need to pre-fund wallets on the exchange. Assets are stored in cold wallets with a multi-signature setup and ISO-certified controls, and are only transferred when orders are executed.
Cactus Oasis will settle trades and account balances every four hours, under the direct supervision of both entities. According to KuCoin, this framework reduces counterparty risk and safeguards assets in the event of security incidents or operational failures.
Institutional clients will gain access to a market with over $7.76 billion in daily trading volume, with the ability to operate not only on KuCoin but also on other exchanges connected to Cactus Custody. This broadens the operational scope of managed funds and facilitates diversification strategies without compromising asset security.
