Tron Foundation announced the news in a blog post published on Monday, November 30. According to the announcement, BitTorrent, BitTorrent Pro, uTorrent, and uTorrent Pro will now be available to over 3 billion Huawei users across 170 countries on their latest mobile devices.
Huawei users who have a Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Plus device can now enjoy the world’s largest distributed blockchain network and file-sharing services on their mobile phones.
BitTorrent is a P2P file-sharing acquired by the Tron Network in July 2018. After this merger, Tron began the process of integrating BitTorrent into the TRON network later releasing the BTT token which powers the entire BitTorrent X ecosystem. Since then, according to Tron Foundation, it has seen a huge success. The platform is now the largest decentralized platform in the world with over 100 million active users and over 2 billion installs.
As reported, BitTorrent Inc., the parent company of BitTorrent peer-to-peer (P2P) file transfer protocol, announced a new conglomerate of decentralized protocols called BitTorrent X that consists of BitTorrent File System (BTFS), distribution BitTorrent, and the recently acquired decentralized live streaming platform DLive. But DLive is not part of this deal.
The announcement further says:
“Inspired by this partnership, TRON, and BitTorrent Asia, an independent TRON community team in Singapore is spearheading the creation of a new protocol to bridge apps in the Huawei ecosystem to TRON network through BTT and leverage the potential of decentralized features such as BTFS (BitTorrent File System).”
Tron is one of the largest blockchain networks in this world. The network offers a smart contract platform that offers high throughput, high scalability, and high availability for all Decentralized Applications (DApps).
Justin Sun, Founder of TRON and CEO of BitTorrent, commented:
“This is another huge milestone for TRON and BitTorrent to be listed by one of the largest Android manufacturers in the world. We are excited to see the blossoming universe of distributed networks grow via Huawei devices and technology.”
