TL;DR

  • Canary Capital’s Canary Staked TRX ETF is expected to begin trading on Cboe BZX on September 9 under the ticker TRXS.
  • The fund provides regulated U.S. brokerage access to TRX while adding staking exposure.
  • Justin Sun has promoted the launch as TRON gains greater visibility across traditional financial markets, although TRX itself has shown only a modest price reaction so far.

The expected debut of the Canary Staked TRX ETF on Cboe BZX gives U.S. investors another regulated vehicle for gaining exposure to TRX. The product is designed to hold the token directly while also generating additional TRX through staking.

Justin Sun highlighted the upcoming listing on September 8, drawing attention to what could become an important bridge between TRON and traditional brokerage infrastructure. The fund is scheduled to trade under the ticker TRXS, with its launch expected on Wednesday, September 9.

How The Canary Staked TRX ETF Works

Canary Capital’s latest SEC filing outlines a structure focused on both price exposure and staking income. Under normal conditions, the sponsor expects to stake at least 90% of the trust’s TRX, allowing the fund to earn rewards generated by activity on the TRON network. The trust is expected to retain 80% of staking rewards after applicable staking fees.

The ETF also carries a 1.10% annual sponsor fee, calculated daily and generally paid monthly. Canary has agreed to cover ordinary operating expenses up to $200,000 per fiscal year, adding another defined cost element for investors evaluating the structure.

The product is not an equity stake in TRON or a company associated with the network. Instead, it is structured to provide exposure to TRX held by the trust, while its staking component seeks to increase the amount of TRX represented by the fund over time.

TRX Gains A New Institutional Access Point

The launch also arrives as TRON-related financial exposure expands through corporate markets. Tron Inc., which trades on Nasdaq under TRON, has pursued a treasury strategy centered on accumulating TRX and was recently included in several Russell indexes. Reports indicate the company holds more than 713 million TRX.

That development is separate from TRXS, and investors should not treat the ETF and Tron Inc. shares as interchangeable instruments. Still, both developments point toward broader integration between TRX and conventional financial markets.

TRX has so far shown a limited immediate response to the ETF news. Recent market data places the token around $0.34, suggesting traders are waiting to see whether the new product attracts meaningful demand once trading begins.
