The reference appears for approximately two seconds, showing a plane with the words “DacityCoin AudaCity” on its side while a character lights a pink flare on one of its wings.
Following the trailer’s release, the token’s market capitalization surged 2,900% in one hour, climbing from approximately $104,000 to $3.18 million.
Dacity Coin Launched Days Before the GTA VI Trailer
The memecoin was created on October 11 through Pump.fun, after footage allegedly leaked by a hacker known as Cyberleek revealed references to Dacity Coin in GTA VI.
During its initial trading period, the token reached a market capitalization of $1.14 million, but subsequently fell to $144,700 and remained relatively stable until the trailer was released.
The subsequent surge allowed some traders to secure substantial profits. According to DEX Screener, 24 traders recorded profits exceeding $10,000, with one turning an investment of $1,912 into approximately $44,000.
The rally did not hold entirely. After reaching $3.18 million, the token’s market capitalization dropped approximately 53%, falling to around $1.5 million.
Rockstar Has Yet to Confirm Any Connection to the Token
The leaked references suggest that Dacity Coin could be part of a fictional advertising campaign within GTA VI, associated with the AudaCity brand and the character Lucia.
The content appears to satirize the extreme promotional tactics used by some memecoin creators, although Rockstar has not explained what role the cryptocurrency will play in the game.
There is no confirmation that Rockstar created, backed, or authorized the memecoin trading on Solana. It has also not been confirmed that GTA VI will support payments using real cryptocurrencies.
