TL;DR
- Grayscale added more than 629,000 LINK to its holdings during September, worth approximately $8.37 million based on the reported transactions.
- Bitwise’s Chainlink ETF prospectus includes a framework that could allow staking in the future, expanding the potential utility of the investment product.
- Chainlink also gained institutional relevance through Bottomline’s Global Pay Connect, which connects more than 600 banks to blockchain networks through existing payment infrastructure.
Grayscale has continued building its Chainlink position while Bitwise advances its own ETF structure, adding another layer to the growing institutional presence around LINK. At the same time, Chainlink is testing a key yearly price level as its infrastructure gains exposure to traditional financial networks.

Grayscale Expands Chainlink Exposure
Grayscale reportedly purchased an additional 159,480 LINK worth nearly $2.36 million through a Coinbase Prime wallet, extending a series of acquisitions during September. Earlier transactions included 88,661 LINK in one day, followed by purchases of 177,210 and 203,810 LINK in previous weeks.
Taken together, the reported transactions brought September accumulation to roughly 629,100 LINK, valued at approximately $8.37 million. The buying activity gives investors another indication that regulated investment vehicles are becoming an increasingly important channel for institutional exposure to digital assets.
Bitwise is adding another dimension to that trend. Its Chainlink ETF prospectus, filed with the SEC on September 28, identifies the product under the ticker CLNK and states that its primary objective is to provide exposure to the value of LINK held by the trust.
The filing also leaves room for staking. While the trust does not currently stake LINK, the prospectus says it may amend its registration statement in the future to allow staking as a secondary investment objective.

Chainlink Connects Banks As LINK Retests Resistance
Institutional developments extend beyond investment products. Bottomline launched Global Pay Connect on September 17, integrating Chainlink with a platform designed to connect financial institutions to blockchain-based payment networks while retaining existing connectivity.
Bottomline says it serves more than 600 banks and moves over $16 trillion in payments annually across its platforms. The company’s integration with Chainlink is designed to let financial institutions access blockchain networks without replacing their established payment infrastructure.
That combination gives Chainlink exposure to a practical financial use case, particularly as banks explore tokenized assets, cross-chain settlement and blockchain-based payment rails. For LINK, growing use of Chainlink infrastructure provides a fundamental development alongside the expanding ETF market.
On the market side, LINK reached $15.80 before retreating toward $14.43. The $13.75 area remains an important support level, while $15.80 represents the immediate resistance separating the recent recovery from another advance.
