Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange, OKX, brokered into an agreement with English Premier League (EPL) champions, Manchester City F.C., becoming its official training kit sponsor for the 2022-23 season.
Despite a dull market, crypto companies are betting big on new deals. Recently, early-stage gaming VC, Konvoy Ventures, secured $150 million in a bid to invest in gaming, targeting web3 and the blockchain-based gaming industry. On July 8, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, received a license of the Bank of Spain to operate as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in the country.
A few weeks ago I posted about our commitment to our growth at OKX despite the market corrections.
Today we are proud to announce that we’ve expanded our deal with Manchester City Football Club to become their official training kit partner.

Crypto into the World of Football
In the latest development, crypto exchange OKX announced a sponsorship agreement with one of the leading football clubs, Manchester City that will put the branding of the crypto exchange on the training kits of both men and women teams of Manchester City. The deal was first revealed in March 2022, marking OKX’s first foray into the sports world.
According to the official blog post, the agreement will see a “new era of disruptive fan engagement and web3-based experiences” with the players taking part in OKX’s crypto education initiatives. Additionally, OKX, has appointed street artist Akse P19 and Global Street Art Agency to design artworks featuring players including Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Joao Cancelo and John Stones across Manchester that include QR codes. The QR codes can be further scanned by fans for a chance to win season tickets in the OKX Hospitality Box.
A New Deal to Supercharge the Fan Experience
In line with the new deal, OKX, plans to revamp the “fan experience” providing crypto tips to trade responsibly and curate programs to boost the Manchester community. Roel de Vries, Group Chief Operating Officer, City Football Group, who seemed pleased to announce the agreement said that both OKX and Man City are aligned on values such as innovation, training and education. He reiterated,
“Since the initial partnership began in March 2022, we have worked together to ‘supercharge the fan experience’ through a number of exciting content activations ahead of high profile fixtures during the culmination of the 2021/22 season and we look forward to continuing to develop these opportunities over the coming year.”
(1/4) To celebrate the partnership, we will also be launching our very own [trading course] along with demo trading on OKX, a new license announcement on Wednesday and new product integration announced Thursday!

Haider Rafique, Global Chief Marketing Officer, OKX, expressed,
“Being Man City’s Official Training Kit Partner helps us extend that mindset from the training ground over to our trading app community. We want our community to learn from that mindset and use our demo trading feature to train for the real exchange just like Man City players train before the beginning of the season.”
