Coinbase launched its prediction markets platform across all 50 U.S. states, using Kalshi contracts. Users can trade with U.S. dollars or USDC from their exchange accounts. The markets are available nearly 24/7 and cover sports, culture, politics, and cryptocurrencies.
The company announced the expansion following a surge in volume on Kalshi and Polymarket during the fall of 2025, which exceeded billions of dollars in weekly trades. Kalshi and Polymarket raised more than $2.3 billion in the final months of 2025, reaching valuations of $11 billion and $9 billion, respectively. Robinhood also offers Kalshi contracts.
The product allows users to bet on Coinbase-specific events, such as statements during its next earnings call, although the total volume generated so far is $13,000. Markets will undergo a two-hour maintenance window on Thursday mornings.
Previously, Coinbase experienced incidents related to prediction markets, including questions about market manipulation during an earnings call.
