In an exciting step toward secure cross-chain interoperability, Chainlink, the leading decentralized computing platform, today announced the integration of Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with Circle Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP).
This collaboration aims to provide users with a secure and reliable way to transfer the USDC stablecoin across different blockchains.

Developers within Chainlink’s extensive blockchain ecosystem can now natively access one of the most liquid digital assets, USDC, thanks to the integration with CCTP.
This union allows developers to create secure cross-chain applications using CCIP, opening up new possibilities such as seamless and secure cross-chain transfers, payments, and other interactions in the realm of decentralized finance (DeFi).
Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the adoption of stablecoins in various cross-chain use cases.
He highlighted CCIP’s multi-layered security infrastructure and advanced risk management features, underscoring its value for developers working with USDC.
Nazarov also noted the importance of meeting key user requirements when sending USDC securely.

Additionally, CCIP is supported by the Risk Management Network, an independent network that monitors and verifies cross-chain operations for anomalous activity.
This CCIP Level 5 security infrastructure takes on special relevance given the industry’s history of exploits and billions of dollars in losses due to insecure and unreliable cross-chain infrastructure.
CCTP, for its part, is presented as a permissionless on-chain utility that allows developers to offer users a secure and capital-efficient way to transfer USDC between chains.
With over $9 trillion in enabled transaction value, LINK has proven to be a vital platform for financial institutions, startups, and developers around the world by providing access to real-world data, off-chain computing, and secure cross-chain interoperability.
The integration between Chainlink CCIP and Circle CCTP seeks to improve the secure transfer of USDC between various blockchain networks, providing developers with new opportunities to build cross-chain applications securely and efficiently.
