Cardano is moving into the final preparation phase for its next major network upgrade, with Intersect saying that the Node 10.7.0 pre-release is expected within days and is one of the critical versions needed for Protocol Version 11, known as the van Rossem hard fork.

The release carries more weight than routine maintenance. Node 10.7.0 is intended to push the ecosystem into broader readiness and testing, with developers, infrastructure providers, and stake pool operators all expected to take part. A compatible DBSync version is also expected shortly after release to support data synchronization, while no serialization changes are being introduced, preserving compatibility with hardware wallets and reducing disruption during the transition.

What follows is the staged rollout of the 10.7.x series into Protocol Version 11 across testnets before any move to mainnet. Once activated, the upgrade is set to add new Plutus built-in functions and other protocol-level capabilities already being tested on SanchoNet. The immediate focus now is execution: whether ecosystem participants can complete the readiness phase smoothly enough to keep the hard fork on track.
