TL;DR
- ADA rose 8% to $0.27, marking its strongest daily rally since May and its highest level in five months.
- Charles Hoskinson fueled attention with #LeiosIsComing, pointing traders toward Cardano’s upcoming Linear Leios scaling upgrade.
- The rally also followed RealFi’s October 1 mainnet launch, adding an RWA-focused stablecoin protocol and fresh DeFi activity to the Cardano ecosystem.
Cardano (ADA) accelerated higher on October 5, rising 8% to $0.27 and posting its strongest rally since May. The move stood out because Bitcoin and Ethereum were relatively subdued, leaving ADA to outperform much of the broader market. The advance has renewed attention on Cardano’s development roadmap and scaling plans.
The immediate catalyst was a post from Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson. He shared a 15-minute ADA/USDT chart showing the token moving from roughly $0.244 toward $0.264, adding the hashtag #LeiosIsComing. The message refocused traders on Linear Leios, a protocol upgrade designed to expand Cardano’s transaction capacity while retaining the security role of its existing Praos chain.

Cardano Gains Momentum As Leios Testing Advances
Linear Leios is specified in CIP-164 and is being tested through the public Musashi Dojo network. Cardano reported that Leios reached 26.8 TxkB/s during testing, around six times the current mainnet ceiling of 4.51 TxkB/s. The network processed more than 127,000 blocks, while 63 stake pools participated during the test phase.
The upgrade uses larger endorser blocks alongside regular Praos blocks. This architecture can separate main-chain production from additional transaction data, creating more room for applications as demand grows. Cardano currently describes Linear Leios as the version targeted for mainnet through the Dijkstra hard fork, with deployment planned for late 2026 and dependent on governance and further testing.

RealFi Adds A Fresh DeFi Catalyst
ADA’s rally also followed the October 1 mainnet launch of RealFi, a Cardano-native real-world asset stablecoin protocol. The project completed a public testnet with more than 3,000 verified active wallets before going live, while integrations with Lace, Liqwid and SundaeSwap expanded its initial reach. The launch gives Cardano another use case connecting on-chain liquidity with tokenized real-world financial assets.
Technically, ADA’s move toward $0.27 brings the $0.28 area into focus as the next nearby resistance. The rally shows that traders can respond quickly when ecosystem launches coincide with progress on core infrastructure. Still, sustained upside will likely depend on whether Cardano converts development milestones into greater network usage, liquidity and application activity.
