BitTorrent has sealed its intergration with Tron by listing its Tronix (TRX) as one of the key medium of payments for premium products along with Binance Coin (BNB) and Bitcoin (BTC).
The world’s leading peer to peer communications and products platform made the announcement on the 27th of November, thus effectively furnishing millions of cryptocurrency users on different platforms the ability to access BitTorrent’s premium services through cryptocurrencies.
This is also a positive step forward for main-stream adoption of cryptocurrencies as it will expose the involved cryptocurrencies to millions of users on BitTorrent’s platform. The CEO of Tron, Justin Sun, expressed his excitement on the new development in the following words:
“BitTorrent joins a growing list of online companies whose products and services accept TRX as payment. With BitTorrent’s over 100 million users, the move helps increase the use of TRX in online marketplaces while giving consumers more options to unlock value from BitTorrent’s premium products.”
This means that cryptocurrency users are now able to acquire annual subscriptions to access a variety of premium products on BitTorrent. The platform provides free and premium memberships which allow users a range of products compatible with the Windows operating system.
The product categories include the popular Pro and Ads free. The Pro category affords users a range of extra and useful capabilities such as enhanced file conversion, virus screening and High definition functionality.
BitTorrent’s dominance on the P-2-P technology landscape dates back to 2004 when it saw its official launch by a consumer software company known as BitTorrent.inc which was nested in San Francisco, Carlifornia.
The platform has one knockout capability which proves an ultra-efficient crowd-puller, and that is enabling users to share large files through a robust peer to peer sharing protocol. The platforms scalability ensures that it has a handful of worthy competitors at a global scale. The statistics tell an intriguing success story as its app keeps on being downloaded on at least 200 million devices across the globe with each passing year.
The development is undoubtedly a huge step forward as far as the Tron project goals are concerned in the sense that it has effectively hit the nail’s head in making one of the world’s largest peer to peer networks fully decentralized.
