TL;DR

  • BitcoinOS launches its Grail testnet bridge, allowing BTC transfers from Testnet 3 to EVM-based testnets.
  • The system uses zk-proof to ensure transaction security without the need for intermediaries.
  • Although currently only supporting one-way transfers, BitcoinOS plans to expand functionality to support two-way transfers and more testnets in the future.

BitcoinOS has launched its Grail testnet bridge, an innovative tool that allows transferring BTC from Bitcoin Testnet 3 to various Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-based testnets.

This feature, which is currently only available in a test environment, marks an important step in the effort to integrate Bitcoin with other blockchain platforms. It provides users with a simpler way to interact with other chains without worrying about gas fees, which BitcoinOS is subsidizing during this phase.

The process is straightforward. Users can access the bridge from their desktops, obtain BTC from Testnet 3 through a faucet, and then transfer those funds to destination chains such as Ethereum or Merlin Testnet. The developers have integrated various wallets, including OKX, Xverse, Unisat, Leather, and BitGet, allowing a wide range of users to utilize the platform. The app has also been designed to be intuitive and user-friendly.

BitcoinOS: The Future of BTC Interoperability

One of the most important features of this bridge is the use of zk-proof (zero-knowledge proof) technology to ensure transaction security. Unlike other systems that rely on a majority consensus, The system only requires a verifiable proof to validate transactions, making it more secure and less vulnerable to potential manipulations. This eliminates the need for intermediaries and ensures that funds are not held by any entity, providing greater security to users.

Bitcoin Post

Although currently only one-way transfers are supported, the team is already working on improving the system to enable two-way transfers. In the future, the platform also plans to incorporate more testnets and non-EVM chains.

This testnet bridge is just the beginning. Aiming to facilitate faster and more secure transactions on the BTC network, BitcoinOS continues to progress toward its goal of offering decentralized, trusted solutions to users
