Arthur Hayes issued a challenge to venture capital investor Kyle Samani: a $100,000 charity bet on whether the HYPE token from Hyperliquid outperforms, in dollar terms, all other assets among the top ten by market capitalization before the end of 2026.
Hayes formalized the challenge in a post directed at Samani, describing it as “a gentlemanly charity bet.” The money would go to the charity of the challenged party’s choice if HYPE fails to deliver.
Hey @KyleSamani maybe you were busy last time I pinged you. Let's do a gentleman's charitable bet. I put $100k on the line to a charity of your choice that $HYPE outperforms any other current top ten crypto in USD terms from now until year end. Who is your champion? pic.twitter.com/fE0tk6XFlj

The token reached an all-time high near $70 on May 31, driven by institutional interest. Part of HYPE’s strength is structural: Hyperliquid allocates approximately 99% of its platform fees to continuous token buybacks through its mechanism known as the Assistance Fund, which generated $1.16 billion in purchases.
Hayes previously called a $150 price target for HYPE, sold near $54 with one wallet, and re-entered around $62, a sequence that highlighted the aggressiveness of his positioning.
