TL;DR

  • Arbitrum DAO generated $6.19 million in first-half 2026 income from transaction fees, Timeboost, Expansion Program licensing and treasury management, with gross margins above 97%.
  • Robinhood Chain produced $360,000 in July licensing fees, representing 35% of Arbitrum DAO’s income, with third-quarter income tracking more than 40% above Q2.
  • Robinhood Chain hit $3.75 million in daily fees, while DEX volume topped $1.5 billion and total value locked exceeded $750 million so far.

Arbitrum DAO generated $6.19 million in income during the first half of 2026, according to an unaudited report released by the Arbitrum Foundation. Revenue came from Arbitrum One transaction fees, Timeboost auctions, Expansion Program licensing and treasury management returns. Gross margins on protocol revenue exceeded 97%, up from more than 90% in 2025. The striking takeaway is that Arbitrum is building a broader revenue base while maintaining unusually high protocol margins. The DAO also held $125 million in non-ARB treasury assets at the end of June, adding financial depth beyond token exposure at midyear overall.

Robinhood Chain Adds A New Licensing Engine

Network usage remained substantial during the period. Arbitrum processed 478 million transactions in the first half, equal to roughly 18% of its 2.7 billion lifetime total. Monthly stablecoin transfer volume averaged more than $70 billion, stablecoin holders climbed 40% to 10.5 million and the network ranked first in tokenized real-world asset deployments with more than 2,000 assets. Those figures suggest Arbitrum’s financial performance is being supported by expanding transactional and asset activity rather than a single revenue source. The ecosystem’s scale also creates a larger base for licensing and infrastructure income across expanding onchain markets.

Robinhood Chain, built with Arbitrum technology, launched on mainnet July 1 and immediately added a new income stream. Expansion Program licensing fees produced $360,000 in July, representing 35% of Arbitrum DAO’s income for the month. Chains in the program that settle outside Arbitrum One and Nova return 10% of net protocol revenue to the ecosystem. Robinhood Chain’s early contribution shows how Arbitrum can monetize external chains without depending entirely on activity inside its flagship networks. The Foundation said third-quarter income is already tracking more than 40% above the second quarter based on July results alone.

Robinhood Chain’s activity accelerated after launch. Users paid a record $3.75 million in fees on September 1, placing the chain ahead of Ethereum mainnet and Base that day, while decentralized exchange volume exceeded $1.5 billion and total value locked stood above $750 million. The key question is whether this surge can become a durable licensing engine for Arbitrum rather than a short-lived launch effect. Before mainnet, Robinhood Chain had processed more than 200 million testnet transactions, while Robinhood had previously issued stock tokens on Arbitrum One, linking the two ecosystems before the new chain debuted.
