The Layer 1 network Aptos implemented Circle’s CCTP V2 protocol, enabling direct, near-instant native USDC transfers. Through the Inbound Fast Transfers feature, the arrival of the leading regulated stablecoin on the blockchain shifts from taking minutes to completing in a matter of seconds via a burn-and-mint mechanism.

Thanks to this update, wrapped tokens (wrapped assets) are no longer required, mitigating the risks of liquidity fragmentation and vulnerabilities associated with traditional bridges. Beyond accelerating cross-chain transactions, funds arrive with programmable capabilities, allowing developers and institutions to immediately automate treasury operations, arbitrage, and decentralized liquidity management.

The technical specifications are now live on Circle. The next step for the Aptos ecosystem will be the direct integration of this standard across decentralized applications and trading platforms to drive institutional capital flows and the adoption of decentralized finance.
