The BNB Chain development team announced that the BNB Smart Chain testnet will implement the Jenner hard fork technical upgrade on October 28. The deployment introduces critical infrastructure optimizations, highlighted by the BEP-703 proposal featuring Payment Lane, a mechanism that by default reserves 5% of gas capacity per block to settle priority payment transactions without interference.
This upgrade strengthens the institutional and operational competitiveness of BNB Smart Chain. In addition to streamlining commercial payments, Jenner will provide the technical foundation for the CAS20 standard, designed to issue stablecoins and real-world assets (RWA) under strict compliance frameworks. Furthermore, it will introduce millisecond-level timestamps in smart contracts, optimizing the precision of DeFi oracles and auctions.
Testnet node operators and validators must upgrade their clients before October 28 to ensure full compatibility with the hard fork. The next phase involves monitoring these features on the testnet before announcing the final activation date on the mainnet.
