Polygon OMS Adds Automated Stablecoin Payouts

Polygon OMS introduces automated stablecoin payouts with onchain controls for recipients, budgets and schedules, simplifying recurring global payments.

Polygon introduced automated payout runs in its Open Money Stack on October 12, letting teams predefine recipients, budgets and active windows for recurring stablecoin distributions. The feature uses onchain wallet permissions to enforce those conditions, giving businesses a programmable way to send stablecoins globally while keeping spending boundaries fixed before each payout cycle begins.

Teams can configure who may receive funds, the maximum amount that can be spent and when the rule expires. Once the cycle starts, applications submit payout requests and the wallet checks every transaction against the approved terms, while the active rule can be revoked at any time. This lets marketplaces, contractor platforms and rewards programs automate repeated payouts without approving every transfer individually.

The controls are stored in Polygon OMS’s onchain Sessions Module, preventing a backend service from independently widening recipient scope, increasing spending limits or extending an expiry. The next test is whether businesses adopt the system for recurring global payment flows, as Polygon continues expanding OMS around funding, stablecoin balances, routing and settlement.
