Coinbase has emerged as the largest Shiba Inu burner over the past 30 days, according to data from the tracking platform Shibburn.
According to the data, Coinbase destroyed 143,956,168 SHIB by sending them to inaccessible addresses known as “dead wallets“, accounting for nearly one third of the total burned during that period. In total, 418.66 million SHIB tokens were removed from circulation over the past month.
The burns originate from multiple operations stemming from transactions and trading fees within the platform. Every token sent to these wallets with no known private key is permanently removed from the circulating supply, and all transactions are recorded on the blockchain.
In the last 24 hours, 68.29 million SHIB were burned, of which 47,419,390 were attributed to Coinbase. The daily burn rate rose 154.33% according to Shibburn. Over the past seven days, the total burned reached 86.75 million, although the weekly rate fell 22.29% compared to the previous week.
