Stripe marks 10 years in Japan with Managed Payments, new checkout options and plans to launch Stripe Capital financing in 2027.

Stripe marked 10 years in Japan on September 30 with a slate of new products aimed at helping digital businesses grow domestically and overseas. The company said more than 150,000 businesses and solopreneurs in Japan now use Stripe, while new launches include Managed Payments, expanded financing and additional checkout tools.

Stripe Managed Payments will let Japanese businesses sell digital products to customers in 195 countries while Stripe handles indirect tax, disputes, fraud protection and customer support. Stripe also added support for Rakuten Pay, d-Barai, au PAY, Merpay and Aeon Pay, while Tap to Pay on Android and the new T600 Terminal expand in-person payment options.

Stripe Capital is scheduled to launch in Japan in 2027, allowing eligible fast-growing businesses using Stripe Payments to access financing linked to future growth. The next milestone is the rollout of Stripe Capital and adoption of the newly launched payment tools, as Stripe continues expanding its infrastructure for Japanese digital businesses.
