The purchase was made possible by funds raised in recently closed capital rounds, including a private placement of €28.7 million ($33.3 million). Within that round, Adam Back made an additional investment of €7.6 million ($8.8 million), raising his stake in the company to 17.64% on an ordinary share basis.

Capital B, originally known as The Blockchain Group, underwent a rebranding in July 2025 to align its identity with its bitcoin treasury strategy. In June of that same year, it had announced that it was exploring the development of a bitcoin-backed credit product for the European market, drawing on instruments similar to those of Strategy and Strive in the US market.

According to the latest data from CoinMarketCap, Bitcoin is trading around $78,850, with little variation over the past 24 hours. BTC had reached a local high of approximately $81,700 last Thursday before giving back some of those gains.
