Bank Leumi, the largest bank in Israel, will announce next Monday its partnership with Galaxy Digital to offer cryptocurrency trading services to its clients starting in early 2027, becoming the first Israeli bank to announce a service of this kind.

Leumi customers and those of its mobile banking unit, Pepperwill be able to buy, hold and sell bitcoin, ethereum and solana through a dedicated section within the Leumi Trade app. Galaxy Digital will provide the trading services through GalaxyOne Institutional, its platform aimed at banks and asset managers. Additionally, Leumi signed an agreement to use Galaxy’s custody infrastructure, formerly known as GK8.

Maya Ravia, the bank’s chief strategy officer, stated that digital assets are an increasingly integral part of the global financial system. For his part, Lior Lamesh, CEO of Galaxy Israel, argued that banks that position themselves first will help define the direction of finance toward an open and programmable infrastructure. The parties did not disclose commercial terms, fees or eligibility requirements for customers.
