TL;DR:
- Robinhood offers trading of over 50 cryptocurrencies with no commissions in the UK, integrated into its app alongside stocks, ISAs, options, and futures.
- Crypto trades are executed through Bitstamp UK Ltd, acquired for $200 million in 2025, and assets are not covered by the FSCS.
- The platform incorporates Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto, a generative AI widget that analyzes news, indicators, and market data in real time.
Robinhood entered the UK market this week with a proposal that integrates cryptocurrency trading directly within its main investment application. The launch of the service began rolling out gradually among eligible clients, incorporating over 50 digital assets —including Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, and Hyperliquid— alongside already available products such as stocks, ISAs, options, and futures, all on a single platform.
Crypto trades are executed through Bitstamp UK Ltd, the subsidiary that the exchange acquired in 2025 for $200 million. The service launches with no trading commissions, no account maintenance fees, and no custody charges. However, British clients will pay a foreign exchange commission of 0.1%, which rises to 0.3% on certain conversions during weekends. The company clarified that assets held through Bitstamp UK are not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto: AI at the Service of the British Investor
The platform also introduces Robinhood Cortex Digests for Crypto, a widget powered by generative artificial intelligence that analyzes breaking news, market data, technical indicators, and firm information. The system explains in accessible language the factors driving the price movements of each asset, with the goal of providing market context for making more informed investment decisions.
Jordan Sinclair, president of Robinhood UK Ltd and general manager of Bitstamp UK Ltd, noted that “a new wave of British investors considers digital assets an important part of a diversified portfolio” and described the launch as “a major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.”
The Crypto Ecosystem in the European Market
The expansion also projects that the company’s blockchain ecosystem will reach UK developers, who will be able to build on Robinhood Chain, a layer-2 blockchain based on Arbitrum. According to company data, the network accumulated over $18 billion in decentralized trading volume and surpassed $840 million in total value locked since its launch on July 1.
The platform’s financial context is essential. In its second-quarter report, Robinhood reported total net revenues of $1.31 billion, a jump of 32% year-over-year, with a net income of $573 million, 48% higher than the same period in 2025. Crypto transaction revenues reached $100 million, although they fell 38% year-over-year, while prediction markets generated $156 million, surpassing the crypto segment for the first time.
