Ripple Accelerates RLUSD Growth With Bold Mint Rollout and Notabene Investment

Ripple launches Mint and invests in Notabene to expand RLUSD access, automation, compliance reach, and institutional payment activity.

TL;DR

  • Ripple launched Ripple Mint, allowing institutions to create, redeem, bridge, monitor, and automate RLUSD through dashboards, APIs, and webhook notifications across supported blockchain networks.
  • Ripple invested in Notabene and will integrate RLUSD into its payments platform, which connects more than 2,300 institutions across over 100 jurisdictions.
  • RLUSD holder counts and active addresses increased, but market capitalization fell nearly 5% and monthly transfer volume dropped about 25% to roughly $11 billion.

Ripple has launched Ripple Mint and invested strategically in Notabene, pairing easier institutional issuance with a broader payments network for its dollar-backed RLUSD stablecoin. The twin rollout arrives at an oddly mixed moment: RLUSD’s holder count and active addresses rose during the past month, yet monthly transfer volume fell about 25%, from roughly $14.6 billion to $11 billion. Ripple is trying to convert growing interest into measurable transaction activity, giving institutions tools to create, redeem, bridge, monitor, and integrate RLUSD while expanding its path into regulated business payments across trading, treasury, and settlement channels worldwide.

Ripple Mint and Notabene target institutional usage

Ripple Mint replaces more manual issuance workflows with a unified web dashboard and application programming interfaces. Institutions can mint or redeem RLUSD directly, track transactions from fiat receipt through onchain settlement, check balances, bridge tokens across supported networks, and receive webhook updates. The platform is designed to embed RLUSD inside existing treasury and payment operations, rather than requiring companies to manage each step separately. Ripple has also extended the stablecoin beyond the XRP Ledger and Ethereum to networks including Base, Optimism, Ink, Unichain, and the XRPL EVM sidechain, without disrupting access for current stablecoin customers.

The Notabene investment addresses a different challenge: getting RLUSD used after it is issued. The stablecoin will be integrated into Notabene Flow, a business-to-business payments platform serving more than 280 customers and connecting over 2,300 institutions across more than 100 jurisdictions. The network facilitates above $2 trillion in annualized transaction volume. Ripple is placing RLUSD directly before institutions already positioned to send regulated payments, while the companies also explore how trusted payment authorization could complement Ripple Payments and strengthen enterprise transaction workflows at scale. This could turn compliance infrastructure into a distribution engine for RLUSD.

RLUSD’s market value sits near $1.5 billion, with supply split between approximately $877 million on the XRP Ledger and $643 million on Ethereum. Holder numbers increased 6% and active addresses jumped 70% over the month, but market capitalization slipped almost 5% as transfers weakened. The contradiction is that more wallets are holding RLUSD while less money is moving through it. Ripple Mint may simplify supply creation, while Notabene could encourage real usage, yet the results will depend on whether institutions turn improved access and compliance connectivity into sustained payment volume through recurring institutional settlement demand.
