TL;DR

  • Aave Labs launched Stable Vaults, a ready-to-use infrastructure for any business to integrate fixed stablecoin yields into their products.
  • The vaults convert variable onchain lending rates into fixed rates, eliminating the need to build yield infrastructure from scratch.
  • The system already operates within the Aave mobile app and is compatible with any ERC-4626 strategy, with Chainlink support for price data and bridges.

Aave Labs announced the launch of Stable Vaults, a system of smart contracts designed to allow any business to integrate fixed yields on stablecoins directly into their products, without the need to build their own infrastructure. The solution, which already serves as the technical backbone of the Aave mobile application, is now opening to the market as a platform available to businesses of any type and scale.

Stable Vaults aims to integrate DeFi yields into mainstream consumer products. Historically, this has meant dealing with volatile rates, fragmented liquidity across chains, and a complex infrastructure layer between the onchain strategy and the end user. Aave’s system converts variable onchain lending rates into a fixed rate that each operator can offer to their users, while managing rebalancing, cross-chain operations, and the effective rate paid.

The use cases are broad. A neobank can embed fixed-rate savings powered by Aave markets directly into its application. A payments company can allow its merchants to earn yields on idle settlement balances through a Veda vault between payments.

wallet or exchange provider can add a savings feature with a single tap backed by Savings GHO, without managing their own infrastructure. A fintech issuing its own stablecoin can register it as a deposit asset and create a closed yield product for its users with a custom ERC-4626 strategy.

The model also offers commercial flexibility: operators can offer higher rates to specific segments, such as premium subscribers, or run temporary promotions that boost a user’s yields. Everything the underlying strategies generate above the committed rates becomes operator revenue.

Chainlink Price Feeds and CCIP can power any Stable Vaults implementation, providing reliable price data and secure cross-chain bridges. User deposits begin earning yield from the moment they are received, and deposit and withdrawal operations are enabled from any chain the operator supports.
