Polymesh said on June 23, 2026, that v8 is targeted for Testnet on June 24 and Mainnet on July 22. The upgrade introduces self-registered DIDs, simpler asset transfers, expanded account-based ownership, EVM smart contract support and Confidential Assets on Testnet, making v8 one of Polymesh’s largest network changes since launch.

The update affects developers, integrators, infrastructure operators, asset issuers and wallet providers preparing for the runtime upgrade. Polymesh said node binaries and Docker images for v8.0.0 are already available, while applications that assume receiver approval for transfers should review their flows before the chain upgrade.

The next point to watch is Testnet feedback before the July Mainnet target. Confidential Assets will remain disabled on Mainnet while further development, testing and auditing continue, so v8’s privacy features are still in controlled rollout.
