TL;DR:
- Apex Group provides fund management services for a tokenized real estate fund that issues shares on GS DAP, Goldman Sachs’ blockchain platform.
- The project integrates Archax as custodian and distribution partner, LRC Group as fund manager, and Ownera as the interoperability layer between participants.
- The tokenized real-world asset market reached $51 billion, according to Bernstein.
Apex Group joined a real estate tokenization project led by Goldman Sachs, alongside digital asset exchange Archax, real estate investment manager LRC Group, and interoperability provider Ownera. The project aims to foster institutional adoption of tokenized funds within the real estate market at an international scale.
Within the project, Apex Group acts as the alternative investment fund manager through Fundrock LIS, and also provides administration, depositary, and bank account management services through its affiliates in Luxembourg. This includes the issuance, ongoing servicing, and lifecycle management of native blockchain shares within an established regulatory framework.
APEX: Blockchain Infrastructure at the Service of Brick and Mortar
Fund shares are issued as digital tokens on GS DAP, Goldman Sachs’ blockchain platform launched in 2022 and built on the Canton Network and the DAML smart contract language. LRC Group, a pan-European real estate investment manager, manages the fund. Archax operates as custodian of the regulated digital securities and as the first distribution partner. Ownera provides the connectivity infrastructure that links issuers, custodians, and distribution channels.
“Institutional-scale tokenization depends on reliable, regulated infrastructure,” said Agnes Mazurek, Global Head of Digital Assets at Apex Group, highlighting that the company’s participation in the project demonstrates growing demand for native blockchain solutions that operate within existing regulatory frameworks.
Mathew McDermott, Global Head of Digital Assets at Goldman Sachs and board member of Digital Asset, stated that issuing native shares on GS DAP allows investors to invest in real estate assets with precision and provide smoother transferability in the future.
Everyone Is Joining the Tokenization Wave
Institutional tokenization already spans money market funds, private funds, and collateral networks. Previously, Apex Group had collaborated with Coinbase to launch a tokenized Bitcoin yield fund on the Base blockchain in March 2026. Other investment banks such as JPMorgan have also expanded their tokenization infrastructure through Kinexys, focused on payments, collateral, and tokenized assets.
