Axelar proposes ending Flow, Berachain and Plume integrations

The interoperability networkĀ AxelarĀ submitted a governance proposal to discontinue three chain integrationsĀ within its Amplifier framework: Flow,Ā Berachain, and Plume.

The decision follows an internal review that detectedĀ virtually no economic activityĀ across these connections since their launch, while operational costs for verifiers continued to accumulate. According to the official statement, the foundationĀ had been subsidizingĀ those costs forĀ hundreds of thousands of dollarsĀ annuallyĀ without a sufficiently robust transaction volume being recorded across any of the three channels.

The team noted that each active connection generates considerations aroundĀ security terms, operational burden, and economic risksĀ that must be justified by real activity. In the absence of that activity, Common Prefix —responsible for Axelar’s 2026 roadmap— concluded thatĀ maintaining these integrations dilutes the network’s objective and compromises verifier incentives.

The proposal will follow the standard governance process:Ā token holders will have three days to vote, and if approved, a one-week notice period will begin before the formal shutdown. The teams of all three chains were notified in advance.
