Parsec, theĀ decentralized financeĀ analytics platform,Ā announced its definitive closure after five years of operations. The decision was communicated through a post on X, where the team expressed that this was not the ending they had hoped for, while noting they were proud of the journey.

The company’s CEO described the shutdown as the result ofĀ not having been able to anticipate the structural changes in the market. Parsec was born in early 2020 as a side project to chart activity on Uniswap v1 andĀ evolved into a full DeFi terminalĀ during the 2020 boom and the 2021 bull market.

During the 2022 collapse, the platform gained popularity through itsĀ dashboards that allowed users to track the cascade liquidations of protocols such as Terra, OlympusDAO, and Wonderland. However, following the FTX crash, the onchain ecosystem transformed radically. “Spot leverage in the DeFi sector never came back the same way,” the CEO stated, acknowledging thatĀ the sector’s dynamics shifted in ways the team was unable to fully anticipate. Although Parsec recorded isolated traffic peaks — such as during the rise of Friend.tech or its electoral dashboard on Polymarket — sustained growth never materialized.

Other niche platforms, including theĀ ArkhamĀ exchange and theĀ ZeroLendĀ protocol, alsoĀ ceased operationsĀ recently, succumbing to persistent volatility and declining liquidity.
