ZKasino has begun returning funds after the rug pull that caused $33 million in ETH losses. The project reported that it has already refunded 35% of deposits, covering around 2,500 of the 8,000 affected addresses.
The projectās anonymous founder, Derivatives Monke, said that amounts may be adjusted with interest and that larger withdrawals will require KYC for legal reasons. A second wave of repayments is expected next week, potentially raising the restitution to 75% of users.
The scam took place in 2024, when more than 10,000 investors sent 10,515 ETH under the ābridge-to-earnā campaign. Instead of allowing withdrawals, the team locked the funds and staked them on Lido without authorization.
Part of the assets were seized after the arrest of a suspect in the Netherlands. The community has welcomed the refunds but is demanding audits to verify the remaining $25 million.
