This figure marks a rise from about twenty billion dollars in 2025. The funds originate from token sales and venture capital. Their purpose is to build infrastructure, attract users, and develop new products.
A hybrid model of finance is taking shape
In this system, banks and established firms use DeFi smart contracts for settlement and generating yield. The number of these hybrid projects involving major international banks is expected to double during 2026. This growth coincides with increasing regulatory clarity in several global regions.
The tokenization of real-world assets is a central component of this growth. The value of real-world asset tokenization is forecast to grow from its current 1.1 trillion dollars to two trillion dollars next year. This process converts traditional assets like stocks and bonds into tokens on a blockchain.
These tokenized instruments are creating a bridge between conventional finance and decentralized systems. The report further estimates DeFi wallets will number twelve million by mid-2026, noting a portion will be used for short-term automated strategies rather than by individual users.
