VitalHub, a blockchain company based in Canada, has deployed a blockchain-enabled COVID-19 electronic screening toll named DOCit. The app will used by a Region of Waterloo-owned Sunnyside Home Long-Term Care, located in the Stanley Park area of Kitchener, for the screening of residents for typical COVID-19 symptoms.
VitalHub made the announcement in a press release published Wednesday, April 8. According to VitalHub, the DOCit was developed in response to Sunnyside Home’s request for a solution to manage and conduct ongoing resident screening for symptoms typical of COVID-19.
According to the company, the screening tool leverages a VitalHub-developed mobile app DOCit, which was specifically designed with these kind of screening initiatives in mind. DOCit allows care facilities to deploy and configure any screening or recurring task, enabling reporting standards for care providers, operations staff, and national, provincial, or regional health authorities.
As the number of COVID-19 cases are increasing, the frontline care workers are also experiencing significant deleterious effects. So the reason behind Sunnyside Home choosing to deploy this innovative screening tool as one of several proactive and early-warning measures to protect their residents and staff.
