Wells Fargo, Intuit, and Arm Holdings objected before the SEC to reject the trading of their securities as tokenized shares. According to a regulatory filing cited by Reuters, this refusal brings to 22 the total number of companies blocking their inclusion in the joint initiative by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), joining the previous veto by giants such as Microsoft, Alphabet, and Goldman Sachs.

The dispute arises following a temporary exemption issued by the SEC, which allows the listing of digital representations of traditional securities with 24/7 continuous trading on the X Layer network via liquidity pools. However, this regulation grants issuers opt-out rights. While project leaders argue that the global market demands uninterrupted operations, corporations fear losing control over how their assets are distributed and held in custody across non-traditional decentralized platforms.

The next step for institutional tokenization advocates will be to convince issuers that the infrastructure safeguards their corporate rights without introducing operational or regulatory risks.
