The Spanish Red Cross (Creu Roja) has deployed RedChain, a new blockchain-based aid distribution system that offers donors real-time transparency without exposing beneficiary identities. This was confirmed today in an official release shared by the organization.

The platform, developed with infrastructure provider BLOOCK and zero-knowledge credential firm Billions Network, digitizes the entire aid lifecycle. It replaces paper vouchers and prepaid cards with ERC-20 aid credits on Ethereum, accessible via a mobile wallet. Beneficiary personal data is kept entirely off-chain, with the blockchain serving solely to verify transaction integrity and timestamps.

The next step will be the progressive implementation of the system across the organization’s aid programs. Donors will be able to audit fund flows in an aggregated manner, while adoption and usability by end beneficiaries will be closely monitored.
