TL;DR
- Sony has launched the Soneium Score, a new on-chain system that tracks and rewards authentic user participation across its blockchain ecosystem.
- The scoring system evaluates activity across four areas: daily engagement, liquidity contributions, NFT ownership, and interaction with featured projects.
- It aims to build verifiable digital identities, increase long-term user engagement, and provide developers with reliable reputation metrics to enhance decentralized applications.
Sonyās Soneium blockchain has introduced the Soneium Score, a novel points system designed to measure and reward genuine activity on its platform. The system assigns points for actions such as asset trading, staking, NFT transactions, and participation in partner projects. By tying rewards to verifiable on-chain behavior, Sony encourages sustained user engagement, strengthens ecosystem trust, and fosters a more loyal and active community of global participants.
The scoring framework is divided into four key categories: daily activity streaks, liquidity contributions, NFT holdings, and bonus activities with featured ecosystem partners. This approach allows both routine users and high-contribution participants to receive recognition for their involvement. It also encourages experimentation with new applications and provides a transparent metric for evaluating long-term contribution, helping users see the tangible benefits of consistent participation and learning.
Four Participation Categories Ensure Fair And Transparent Scoring
Soneiumās new system addresses common blockchain challenges, including the difficulty of accurately measuring long-term user reputation and the challenge projects face in attracting committed participants. By tracking consistent activity and rewarding it with points, the Soneium Score creates a transparent, merit-based environment that benefits both users and developers.
Season 1 of the program has launched with major ecosystem partners, giving users immediate opportunities to earn points while exploring DeFi, gaming, and digital collectible projects. Users who accumulate 80 or more points can earn a Soulbound Token (SBT) badge, a unique and non-transferable token that reflects on-chain reputation. These badges can serve as identity markers for future decentralized applications, helping developers manage access and provide customized experiences, while also creating additional incentives for users to engage with emerging projects.
Soneium operates as an Ethereum Layer-2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, a joint venture with Startale Labs. Since its mainnet debut in January, the platform has attracted over 14 million wallets during testing, demonstrating strong initial adoption and interest in its gamified reputation model.
By transforming routine blockchain activity into verifiable identity tags, the Soneium Score is positioning Sony to lead in the development of reputation-driven, user-centered Web3 experiences that reward real participation and foster lasting engagement across diverse applications and environments.
