TL;DR

  • Integration Expansion: Securitize announced plans to integrate with the Stellar network, allowing institutional asset managers to issue and manage tokenized financial assets.
  • Institutional Focus: Stellar offers features such as asset issuance, fast settlement, compliance-oriented functionality, and already supports activity from other organizations.
  • Multichain Strategy: the company continues expanding beyond Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche, giving partners more flexibility.

Securitize is expanding its blockchain footprint through a planned integration with the Stellar network, a move designed to give institutional asset managers another option for bringing traditional financial products onchain. The announcement was made alongside Meridian 2026 in Lisbon and reflects growing interest in tokenized real-world assets, a sector that continues to attract attention from both financial institutions and blockchain infrastructure providers.

Securitize Adds Stellar to Its Growing Blockchain Network

The integration will allow Securitize to support the issuance and management of tokenized financial assets on Stellar. The company already supports multiple blockchain ecosystems, including Ethereum, Solana, and Avalanche, and has become widely recognized for issuing and managing BlackRock’s BUIDL tokenized money market fund.

By adding Stellar, Securitize is broadening the infrastructure available to institutional clients seeking blockchain-based alternatives for traditional financial products. The company said the initiative aligns with its focus on providing flexible blockchain options without compromising the regulatory and operational requirements expected by professional asset managers.

Tokenization has gained momentum across financial markets as firms explore ways to represent traditional assets on blockchain networks. This trend has extended to areas such as equities, debt instruments, and commodities, with market participants increasingly highlighting the advantages of digital asset infrastructure.

Why Stellar Appeals to Institutional Asset Managers

Why Stellar Appeals to Institutional Asset Managers

Stellar has established itself as a blockchain network focused on efficient financial transactions and asset transfers. According to the company, the network supports capabilities such as asset issuance, fast settlement, and features designed for regulated use cases. The ecosystem has also attracted notable institutional activity. Franklin Templeton operates a tokenized money market fund on Stellar, and MoneyGram uses the network to facilitate daily money movement.

Stellar is additionally known for infrastructure that can support compliance-focused functions such as customer identification requirements, sanctions controls, and asset management features. Carlos Domingo, CEO and co-founder of Securitize, said Stellar has built the fourth-largest ecosystem for tokenized real-world assets, reflecting growing institutional demand for tokenization.

Expanding the Reach of Tokenized Finance

For Securitize, the Stellar integration extends its multichain strategy and increases flexibility for institutional partners. Securitize stated that asset managers will have more choices when selecting blockchain networks that align with their operational and distribution objectives. The announcement follows another notable year for Securitize.

Founded in 2017, Securitize went public on the New York Stock Exchange in July and simultaneously tokenized its own stock on Solana and Avalanche. Through the Stellar integration, Securitize aims to further strengthen its position in the evolving tokenized asset market as institutions continue exploring blockchain-based financial infrastructure.
