The leading US online trading company, Robinhood, launched its cryptocurrency wallet app for iOS users worldwide on March 1, 2023.

The self-custody wallet may connect to a variety of decentralized applications, according to a blog post by Robinhood. It has a waitlist of more than 1 million people and has been downloaded in more than 130 countries. Users can now see and store NFTs on both Ethereum and Polygon, and a number of tokens, including COMP, MATIC, SHIB, SOL, UNI, and USDC, are now supported.

The Layer 2 scaling solution, Polygon, as well as the Ethereum network, will both be supported by the app. Meanwhile, users can access dApps such as Uniswap, Balancer, and Kyberswap.

New Robinhood Wallet is Non-Custodial

Furthermore, according to the American trading platform, consumers may earn up to 5 USDC by depositing $10 worth of cryptocurrency into Robinhood Crypto or 1 USDC after transferring $10 from another wallet or exchange to jumpstart their new Robinhood Wallet.

Johann Kerbrat, GM of Robinhood Crypto, boasted that users have expressed their love for how simple the app is to use and that they really enjoy being able to self-custody their digital assets and swap them on Polygon with no network fees. He said the feedback they’ve received for Robinhood Wallet since it first launched in beta has been “extremely positive.”

He continued,

“They also told us they want access to more coins on more chains, which is why we’ve quickly added support for Ethereum.” “While we recognize it’s been a tumultuous few months in the crypto space, we remain committed to our mission to make Robinhood the most trusted, lowest cost, and an easiest-to-use on-ramp to crypto.”

To access the app, users will have to set up a FaceID or Touch ID unlock or a bespoke PIN, according to the fintech startup. Users must also generate and keep a recovery phrase, exactly like with other self-custodial wallets like MetaMask and Trust Wallet.

All iOS customers may currently access Robinhood Wallet, but the company has confirmed that Android compatibility will come later this year.

They also intend to introduce a Web3 browser, support more coins, and broaden their in-app incentives system in the upcoming months.
