TL;DR

  • The XRPL Foundation issued an alert for operators to update to the rippled0.0 software.
  • The version includes crucial fixes, such as a bug in the Token Escrow mechanism.
  • Low voting on key amendments persists, slowing down new functionalities on the ledger.

An urgent alert addressed to node operators. The official XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPL) invites them to update their software following the release of the new rippled 3.0.0 version. This official invitation seeks to ensure the integrity and advancement of the decentralized ledger, introducing performance improvements and crucial fixes to the chain’s core.

The rippled version 3.0.0 XRP Ledger update offers essential improvements, but also implements fixes for important amendments. Among them, the solution to the Token Escrow bug stands out, a flaw that had been discovered in the original mechanism and was addressed by the development team.

The new feature of XRPL allows node operators to test the behavior of rippled in standalone mode before proposed amendments are fully activated on the production network.

The Challenge of Adoption and Consensus

Despite the software release, the community is dealing with an apparent reluctance to adopt key amendments. The XRPL dUNL validator, known as “Vet,” pointed out that a significant portion of the amendments included in the rippled 3.0.0 XRP Ledger version has not yet achieved the necessary majority consensus for full activation.

XRPSCAN reveals that amendments such as fixIncludeKeyletFields, fixMPTDeliveredAmount, fixTokenEscrowV1, and fixPriceOracleOrderfix have only reached 20.59% consensus, while AMMClawbackRounding is even lower, at 17.65%. Vet emphasized that, while more innovation and features are needed on the XRPL, as demonstrated by the multiple proposed amendments, active participation in voting and adequate testing are essential.

The expert cited cases such as the AMM (Automated Market Maker) bug and, more recently, a Permission Delegation bug that was detected just before its implementation. These examples demonstrate that slow but rigorous testing and voting prevent bugs that could have devastating consequences for XRP holders. The stability of the network directly depends on the participation of operators to validate the rippled 3.0.0 XRP Ledger version.

Finally, in other news relevant to user security, the XRP explorer, xrpscan, announced its integration with Chainabuse. This collaboration will allow it to flag suspicious accounts reported to the platform and redirect scammed users to report fraudulent activities in the crypto ecosystem.
