The infrastructure firm Prometheum Inc. raised at least $23 million from institutions and institutional investors. Its CEO, Aaron Kaplan, indicated that the proceeds will be used for Prometheum’s expansion into digital markets, facilitating the integration of crypto-assets and on-chain securities within the traditional broker-dealer channel in the United States.

This capital injection allows Prometheum to consolidate its correspondent clearing service, enabling other broker-dealers to offer digital assets without restructuring their operational models. This represents a major shift for the ecosystem, as it validates a regulatory framework under SEC and FINRA supervision, accelerating the transition toward capital markets enabled by blockchain technology and tokenized products.

Now, the company will onboard new issuers to launch digitally native securities products on a massive scale during 2026. The speed at which traditional brokerage firms adopt this custody and clearing infrastructure—which will determine the liquidity and commercial success of securities based on distributed ledgers—will be key topics of interest in the coming months.
