Postquant Labs introduced the Quip Virtual Machine (QVM) to the industry on its Aglais testnet, integrating quantum and classical hardware under a single programming layer. Inspired by the architecture of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), this solution introduces a gas pricing scheme calculated based on qubit usage, execution time, and entanglement. Alongside this, the team presented QuipSwap, a settlement layer designed to process quantum-resistant payments.
This innovation unifies fragmented environments such as those of IBM or Microsoft, allowing the deployment of quantum smart contracts with transparent and predictable fees. In portfolio optimization benchmarking against traditional computers, QVM’s quantum algorithms matched or exceeded classical performance in all executions, paving the way for decentralized monetization models for advanced computing developers.
The adoption of the QVM is currently in the validation phase with academic and industrial institutions, while the Aglais network offers free compute credits. The next step for Postquant Labs will focus on expanding the infrastructure to the mainnet and strengthening quantum resistance within Web3 standards.
