MetaMask has introduced a new feature that would enable users to purchase crypto with fiat currency directly through its Portfolio Dapp. The aim of such a move is to facilitate users that plan to purchase crypto by eliminating the need to convert the currency first. It is a part of the Portfolio Dapp that would enable users to buy a staggering 90 cryptocurrencies by connecting their MetaMask wallets.

Moreover, it has become possible for users to purchase cryptocurrencies through a number of payment methods that include debit and credit cards, PayPal, bank transfers, and much more. The service is expected to be rolled out in approximately 189 countries, and offer cryptocurrencies across eight different networks that include Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, and many more. However, there is a limit to how much the users can buy using the service. The limit is purely based on the rules and regulations of a certain region.

Metamask stated,

“Ever since launching the aggregator, MetaMask has been on a mission to partner with providers worldwide to help welcome anyone—regardless of where you are based—to web3.”

The service is expected to be rolled out in approximately 189 countries and in most common currencies

Using the feature is simple, as users are required to only connect their wallets to the Portfolio Dapp, or simply click on the Buy button in the MetaMask extension wallet. They would have to select their region, the desired payment method, and the token along with the network they would like to purchase on.

MetaMask Aspires to be a Trendsetter

With the introduction of its latest feature, MetaMask is committed to the provision of a customized quote for each purchase. As soon as a user is done selecting a quote, they would be redirected to a third-party’s website to conclude the transaction. As soon as that is done, the funds would be directly transferred to the user’s wallets.

Metamask further said in its blog post,

“In the spirit of making web3 accessible to all, we’re excited to bring this feature to the dapp for our global community. We hope you enjoy the frictionless experience, let us know what you think, and happy buying!”

This is not the first time MetaMask has done something for the ease of its users. Back in 2022, the firm joined hands with PayPal to allow users to purchase and transfer ETH through PayPal’s platform. The service allows users to transfer purchased ETH to MetaMask wallets by logging onto the app, which would redirect them to the PayPal account to complete the transaction.

Additionally, MetaMask announced a new integration by collaborating with MoonPay, a crypto fintech provider. The integration offered Nigerian customers the ease of purchasing a variety of cryptocurrencies through bank transfers. Nonetheless, Metamask has collaborated with multiple platforms to expand its own services.
