Japanese financial giant SBI Holdings has shared its outlook on XRP’s future price potential, maintaining confidence in Ripple despite recent market pressure. The company believes regulatory developments in the United States remain a key factor that could influence XRP’s next stage of growth.

SBI And XRP Future Outlook Remains Linked To Regulation

During SBI’s first-quarter earnings presentation, Director Yasuo Nishikawa said XRP’s slower price performance appears connected to uncertainty surrounding the U.S. CLARITY Act, a proposed regulatory framework for digital assets. He explained that SBI’s Ripple investment remains valued at around 6.6 trillion yen, showing the company continues to consider Ripple a strategic long-term asset.

SBI reported record first-quarter profitability, with shareholder-attributable profit reaching 148.1 billion yen, nearly 2.5 times higher than the previous year. Its private equity division, which includes the Ripple investment, generated 119.9 billion yen in profit, supported by investments in advanced technologies such as crypto, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and quantum computing.

XRP Adoption Expands Through SBI Crypto Initiatives

Although SBI’s cryptocurrency segment recorded a 1.4 billion yen pretax loss due to weaker market conditions, the company said its global market-making subsidiary B2C2 remained profitable. SBI continues preparing for a possible recovery in digital asset activity through new services, partnerships, and infrastructure expansion.

The Japanese financial group recently introduced support and lending services for the JPYS stablecoin and increased investments focused on on-chain finance. SBI also expects to complete its acquisition of Japanese exchange Bitbank in August, strengthening its position in the domestic cryptocurrency sector. The combined business could reach around 3 million customer accounts and 870 billion yen in assets under custody.

SBI and Ripple have maintained a close partnership for years, working on blockchain-based payment solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. The latest comments reinforce SBI’s long-term approach toward Ripple and XRP, while investors continue monitoring regulatory progress and market conditions that may affect adoption.

The company’s position reflects a broader strategy among financial institutions exploring blockchain infrastructure for global payments and digital finance. While SBI does not provide a direct price target for XRP, its continued investment signals confidence in Ripple’s technology and its potential role as regulations evolve.
