Hedera said that developers can now use its Hosted MCP Server and open-source Hedera Skills marketplace to give AI agents network access and Hedera-specific development guidance. The setup is intended to move agents beyond answering questions by giving them network reach and task-specific execution playbooks.

The Hosted MCP Server is a managed remote instance of Hedera Agent Kit, exposing tools through MCP so compatible clients can query balances, look up token data and build transactions without local agent infrastructure. Hedera said the server runs in RETURN_BYTES mode, meaning it returns unsigned transaction bytes and keeps private-key control on the developer’s side.

The Skills repository packages instructions, references and examples for tasks such as Agent Kit plugins, system contracts, native services, hackathon workflows and development intelligence. The next test is adoption by builders using MCP-compatible clients, because safe on-chain action still depends on human-side signing and integration discipline.
