The Federal Reserve unanimously raised its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%-4% on September 16, marking its first rate hike since July 2023. The decision ends the Fed’s longest policy pause since 2008, as persistent inflation and elevated energy costs keep pressure on monetary policy.

Crypto markets have so far reacted with caution rather than a broad sell-off. In the latest hour, Bitcoin gained 0.64% to $76,128, while Ethereum rose 1.08% to $2,413.49. XRP advanced 1.42%, Solana added 1.17%, and BNB climbed 0.70%. The CoinMarketCap 20 Index was also up 0.24%.

Attention now turns to Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s comments and updated projections, which could provide clues about the path of rates. For crypto markets, liquidity conditions and future monetary policy expectations remain key factors to monitor as investors assess whether digital assets can maintain their recent resilience.
