Enjin said that On-Chain-Unlock is using Enjin Matrixchain to turn NFTs into hardware-style keys for physical access systems. The blog says OCU lets devices verify access cryptographically and on-chain without asking a central server for permission.

The rollout matters for hardware manufacturers in video surveillance, enterprise access, automotive and smart buildings. OCU is described as a C++ SDK integrated into device firmware, where NFT ownership defines admin authority and guest access can be granted by wallet, time window or schedule.

The next point to watch is pilot-phase adoption by manufacturers. Enjin said the pilot is open and hardware makers can contact OCU directly, making firmware integration and real-device testing the practical signals after launch.
