EdgeX said August 3 that TWAP is now live on its trading platform, adding algorithmic execution for large orders. The tool automatically divides one order into smaller sub-orders based on a chosen duration and frequency, making staged execution part of EdgeX’s core trading workflow.

Users can set execution intervals, monitor filled and remaining quantities, view the average fill price and stop a strategy before completion. By distributing orders over time, TWAP is designed to reduce slippage and market impact, with automation replacing repeated manual order splitting during position entry or exit.

EdgeX said the strategy can support large trades, gradual position building and execution in markets with relatively limited liquidity. Orders continue until fully filled, the scheduled period ends or the user terminates the strategy, leaving execution quality under live market conditions as the key operational test.
