On one side is the x402 proposal, promoted by Coinbase, and on the other is the MPP protocol, backed by Stripe and Tempo. Adopting both solutions within a single facilitator aims to prevent losing buyers who use different transactional frameworks.
Technical data published by Celo reveals that the integration allows sellers to charge a fee per request using the mppx SDK. Under this model, the purchasing agent does not need to pay network fees to complete processing.
The current architecture operates through the transferWithAuthorization function of the EIP-3009 standard. Project data details that the facilitator sponsors the gas fees and submits the transaction to the blockchain without taking custody of funds at any point in the process.
According to metrics from the 8004scan.io tracker, the majority of the top three agents registered on its platform have been built on the Celo network. Likewise, ecosystem reports highlight that the chain holds the second-highest volume of agent feedback in the sector.
Details on technical scope and funding
The active version of the protocol supports a one-time charge model, which sets a fixed rate per request. According to official project information, features for continuous sessions and recurring subscriptions are currently unavailable on the EVM path.
