Bitcoin Suisse Expands Globally Despite Cutting 50% of Its Swiss Workforce

Bitcoin Suisse will cut 50% of its jobs in Switzerland to accelerate its global expansion

The pioneering digital asset firm Bitcoin Suisse announced a strategic restructuring that includes the elimination of up to 60 jobs in Switzerland—approximately 50% of its local workforce—to accelerate its international operational deployment. According to information provided by the company’s management to its team, the measure will primarily affect the areas of administrative support, internal operations, and software development, whose functions will be progressively relocated to Bratislava and Vietnam.

This adjustment responds to the company’s transition from a local crypto broker to an international financial group specialized in wealth management for private and institutional clients. Despite holding over $3.7 billion in digital assets, the management decoupled the cuts from market conditions, attributing them to cost optimization and the use of artificial intelligence, backed by licenses recently obtained in Liechtenstein (MiCAR), Bermuda, and Abu Dhabi.

The final number of layoffs will be determined after an internal consultation process that concludes on September 20th, with the first departures scheduled before the end of the year. While its headquarters in Zug will maintain direct wealth advisory services, the deployment of its new regulatory licenses will mark the next step in its global consolidation.
