This change not only reflects its independence from the crypto giant Binance but also symbolizes its decision to diversify its focus into key sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), biotechnology, sustainability, and, of course, Web3 technology. With this evolution, YZi Labs seeks to redefine its role as a global leader in driving innovation across industries and fostering projects that address some of the most pressing challenges in the modern world.
Renewed Leadership and Expanded Vision
As part of this transformation, Ella Zhang, the first director of Binance Labs in 2018, returns to lead the organization. During her initial tenure, Zhang oversaw more than 40 high-impact startups, including Polygon, Injective Protocol, and CertiK, through the first incubation programs. Now, with a broader vision, she aims to strengthen YZi Labs’ presence in emerging sectors, highlighting the intersection of AI, biotechnology, and blockchain.
