Corporate crypto treasury firm BNB Standard celebrated its official opening ceremony on the Nasdaq trading floor this Monday alongside its new Chief Executive Officer, Alex Odagiu. The formal Wall Street debut solidifies a new administrative era for the company following months of internal governance disputes.

Odagiu assumed the chief executive role on October 19, 2026, according to a market report citing Nasdaq event filings and corporate disclosures. The executive had previously served as interim chairman since June 23, 2026.

Odagiu’s prior professional background includes serving as an investment partner at YZi Labs, an entity linked to Changpeng Zhao and formerly known as Binance Labs. Prior to that, the executive was part of the investment banking team at Goldman Sachs.

The appointment of Odagiu marks the resolution of a boardroom battle for control that began in late 2025. During that period, the firm was still operating under its original name, CEA Industries.

YZi Labs, which held an equity stake of approximately 9.4%—equivalent to 4,255,043 common shares according to SEC filings—pushed for a board restructuring. The investment firm urged shareholders to expand the board to 13 seats in order to overhaul leadership positions.

Both parties reached a cooperation agreement on June 23, 2026, putting an end to the proxy contest. Through this pact, Ella Zhang, Matthew Roszak, and Odagiu himself joined the board of directors.

The company confirmed that Chief Financial Officer Brent Miller remains in his current role. Pursuant to the terms agreed upon with YZi Labs, the board of directors still has pending the appointment of one additional independent director.

Corporate Restructuring and Balance Sheet on BNB Chain

The corporation operated under the name CEA Industries until September 29, 2026, the date on which the name BNB Standard took effect while retaining the stock ticker BNC. This change came as a result of a public poll conducted on the social media platform X, where the winning option garnered nearly 47% out of a total of 5,799 votes cast.

Originally, CEA Industries was engaged in the manufacturing and marketing of nicotine vaporizers. In August 2025, a private placement of approximately $500 million pivoted the firm’s operations toward the acquisition and custody of the BNB token as its primary treasury reserve asset.

As of July 31, 2026, the corporate reserve stood at 515,544 BNB, equivalent to $302.3 million. According to the market report, this balance establishes the company as the largest public corporate holder of the crypto asset worldwide.

Financial statements reflected an unrealized loss of $15.3 million stemming from token volatility during the period ending in July 2026. That figure accounted for part of an overall net loss of $11.4 million posted in the first fiscal quarter of 2027.

Official filings indicate that the firm plans to operate its own validator node on the BNB Chain network via a specialized third-party technical provider. According to information provided by the company, the staked assets will remain under the custody of regulated entities, though protocol rewards will depend on network activity and are not considered fixed.

Concurrently, corporate management is maintaining active litigation against 10X Capital seeking to terminate a prior asset management agreement. An industry source indicated that resolving this agreement involved contractual obligations estimated at over $100 million, while the company acknowledged material weaknesses in its internal financial controls.

The next formal step for the corporate governance of BNB Standard will be onboarding the independent director stipulated in the June 23, 2026 agreement, thereby completing the final integration of its board of directors under Nasdaq oversight.
